I studied Illustration and advertising design at the Denver Art Institute. After getting my skills honed, I went on to become creative director at the Shock agency, where I worked for nearly seven years. I learned so much from management to really understanding the client and creative collaboration.

I balanced my day job with personal creative work, still doing illustration and fine art, which garnered attention from a few independent publishers. Eventually, I needed to get more experience to further my carrier and understanding from not only the retail side but smaller design agency experience.

My creative approach—no matter who the client—is to find points of collaboration behind the idea I’ve been assigned and how it works in the real world. I do several iterations on each concept and usually end up refining the one I find most relates to the client and the design issue I am solving.

For me, collaboration isn’t about instigation, but rather, a way to grab the audience you are trying to reach. It’s a way to plant a little bit of desire in their hearts; a yearning to find out more. Ultimately, it’s about creating memorable solutuions.
